Unakite is an altered granite gemstone comprising of a blend of 3 rocks, plain feldspar which is a salmon-pink colour, pistachio green epidote and colourless granite. It’s usually mottled in appearance with various shades of green and pink that give it a beautiful appearance when polished. It’s often used for carving small animals, eggs and spheres as well as being a very popular semi-precious gemstone used in the jewellery making industry. It’s found in the South-Africa, China, Brazil and USA where it was first discovered.
